Heating on when I don’t want it on

So we turn the heating off at the boiler even though we have two thermostats located on the living room and bedroom. We do this because DP can’t use the thermostats, somehow always goes up to turn it off then an hour later we realise it never got switched off haha. Anyway, this is why we just switch the boiler to hot water only once we are happy with the temperature.
We had the heating on for an hour or so on Wednesday night but then turned it off for bed as always.
On Thursday evening, I noticed a radiator was on but assumed DP had turned the heating on. Come bedtime DP asked if I wanted to go downstairs to flick the boiler off considering I’d turned it on today. I said I hadn’t and assumed you had. We went downstairs to check and it was on hot water only but the radiators were on full blast!
The thermostats we’re set to on so I turned them off and the heating came off, but surely this shouldn’t happen?
Were in a new build and only moved in six months ago so it’s a brand new boiler, is something I should flag to customer care?

Following as we have this too!! Not sure if one radiator has to come on when hot water is being heated? I’m not a plumber so no idea really.

Could be a faulty valve in the boiler or something connected with heating water has failed meaning the system is backing the hot water into the radiators to let off the heat. I’d get it checked by a boiler engineer - either through the builders or, if it’s going to be quicker, through a local tradesman.
