Johannesburg for work- Cape Town or Kruger if staying the weekend

I am going to South Africa (Jo’burg) for a week for work mid June. Will probably fly from the UK on Sunday to arrive Monday, then work Mon-Thurs or Fri. I will probably stay the weekend after with a few people in my team and and possibly tag on the Monday too. We are trying to determine whether to go to Kruger on safari, or else fly to Cape Town and spend the weekend there. Has anyone any experience /views of why we might choose one over the other? Both sound exciting/ nice. Thanks in advance.

I'd look at the weather - CT has wet and windy winters and JHB is dry (but cold at night) - I think! Also, doesn't Kruger have malaria so you might need malaria medication? Kruger is a 6 hour drive from JHb whilst CT is a 2hr flight. CT has wine farms and is beautiful - depends how you want to fill your time really!

I would go to Pilanesberg for safari and then fly to Cape Town. Both amazing and unmissable places and will give you opportunity for safari and also experience of the Cape. Would definitely try and extend time in Cape if possible, couple of days in Pilanesberg would be ideal.

I think we have decided on a trip over the weekend to Pilansberg. Now just need to research safaris!
