Realistically priced rattan garden furniture set? 🪑

It can’t just be me who thinks the cost of most rattan furniture is utterly ridiculous. It often costs more than a proper sofa!

Does anyone know where I can get sensibly priced furniture please?

Depends on what you class as reasonable. We've just got some from JYSK and I can't fault them.
JYSK

Completely agree: and the quality of outdoor furniture isn't something l would consider good enough to put in my lounge, yet costs as much.
lidl do some l think, or Aldi.

Yes, we got ours from Aldi, 2 years ago. It's still going strong & didn't break the bank. From memory c.£200 for a right angled sofa (is that what you call them?)

Ah we have a JYSK about twenty mins away but I’ve never been inside so thanks for the recommendation.

Will take a look at Aldi and Lidl too!

I have two sets from Alice's Garden. Excellent quality.

I'd get some wooden benches instead

Rattan stuff will not last

JaninaDuszejko · 13/04/2023 17:38

Most rattan stuff is plastic these days so lasts OK, we got a plastic rattan hanging chair 2 or 3 years ago and it has lasted fine so far, but it does come inside for the winter. Outdoor furniture needs to be weatherproof which is why it's more expensive than indoor furniture. What sort of budget do you have and what kind of thing do you want. Where is it going and how sheltered from the weather will it be? And are you in London or on Shetland, location makes a difference.

You could try IKEA or build your own from pallets?

I have 2 different sets from Aldi.

one rattan which i bought 3 summers ago. 2seats and a small table.

and a rocking set. Bought for £149. It broke, awful welding so i complained. Got a refund and told me to dispose.

i got dad to take it to his welder mate who fixed it!

We got a set from Asda a few years ago that’s still going strong. I think £500ish max

Osina · 14/04/2023 09:09

Would never have thought of Asda, thank you!

Only just seen this thread and thought I’d throw my hat into the ring – I went for a set from Rattan Garden Furniture Ltd not too long ago and have been pretty satisfied. 👍

The quality is good and feels sturdy - good for the unpredictable UK weather (ours has been through many rainy days so far this spring). The cushions are thick and comfortable and it’s stayed looking nice with relatively low maintenance.

I was even toying with the idea of second-hand or conservatory sets, but honestly, the price and ease of buying new from a reputable place seemed like the way to go. And they also had reasonable delivery times, good customer service.
