Eating Easter Eggs

Is there any difference in the amount of weight you would put on if you ate all your choccy Easter Eggs in one day rather than over say a week.

Trying to settle an argument here 🍫

Look at calories over the course of a week rather than a day. You're probably more likely to stay within this calorie range if you have a bit everyday for a week combined with regular food, only because if you eat them at once you might have something else that day and/or feel like crap and be more susceptible to thinking screw it and going on a binge. Technically speaking though you're still eating the same calories over the course of the week from eggs so theoretically doesn't matter.

It greatly depends on your so many factors! Your blood sugar control is one important factor, as is your metabolism and whether you’re eating them alongside a meal or on their own.

Impossible to answer specifically to be honest.

The thing is, you might eat less during the week or end up moving more so the overall weekly calories might work out less.. I think it's better for your teeth to eat your chocolate in one sitting rather than several sugar and acid attacks.

Swalewhale · 14/04/2023 05:22

Yep all in one go would be better for the teeth. If it was me and I was spreading it out through the week it would become a habit and my body would think 'chocolate time!' And then I'd be grumpy when it's all gone next week.
Also if you eat it in one go you're more likely to feel a bit sick and guilty, then motivated to exercise!
As you can see, I'm very pro- all in one go

GBoucher · 14/04/2023 05:34

Yup, agree with others that have said all in one go is better. One massive insulin spike rather than continuous spikes over a period of time, one hit to teeth, and a one off incident rather than regular chocolate consumption that would 'train' your body to expect/crave it on an ongoing basis. Plus, if you eat a humongous amount of calories in one go, your body will not be able to process it all efficiently so a part of those calories will be eliminated from the body without being absorbed (it is partly for this reason that you can get diarrhoea if you really overdo it - your body is trying to get rid of stuff in a hurry).

For me, it'd be less calories if I eat it spread out. If I eat it all on Sunday, I'd have eaten excessive calories and just eating for the sake of it, rather than fancying it or hungry. If I eat it in the week, I'd be substituting it for a morning or afternoon biscuit.
