6 Man tent recommendations

Looking to get a 6 man tent for the summer but there is sooo much choice so I'm looking for recommendations.

We have two DC under 5 so want the bedrooms joined together and not separate. Ideally a large indoor 'living area', and some sort of porch for the buggy & balance bike. Blackout bedrooms a bonus. Budget of around £500. We had a crap High-gear one that leaked when the water pooled on the roof a few years ago. so keen not to make that mistake again!

I think I have a dirty mind, because I immediately wondered if you were asking which six men to share your tent with

I don't do camping, can you tell?

We bought a load of Vango Icarus tents for Scouts to go camping a few years back and they're still making them. They've survived well!

I've got an Outwell Montana 6.

Don't reay need it anymore now there are only two of us! But I loved it. It was great.

We have a Vango Avington 600xl which would likely fit what you’re after. From what I remember, the living space is bigger than the Icarus.

We have a Vango Icarus and it's been fab.

We have a Berghaus tent from Go Outdoors (the air 6xl). Bought 2020, very happy with it. The 6XL is massive, but the 6 is also good.

If you can stretch to £600 you can get the Vango Orava II 650xl Tent with the groundsheet and carpet from outworld direct.co.uk- I’ve got the homestead air which is roughly same size but with another storage port and air but same technology etc and has a really good blackout bedrooms. If I remember correctly the Icarus although has nighttime bedrooms didn’t feel as dark due to the overall colour of the tent! It also has a good hydro rating at 4000 so good waterproofing. I’ve had Vangos for years - never had a problem with them. Some might same you don’t need that size tent but I personally like being able to keep toys / outdoor gear away from any indoor living space, especially if you can’t guarantee any weather!

Don’t forget the MN Camping Board!

Thanks everyone.

We have mainly been looking at vango so I'm glad people are saying they are good.

I will look at the Orava @Fran919

We thought we had narrowed it down to the Purbeck 600xl or the Stargrove 11 600xl, the stargrove is more waterproof I think but that seems the only difference.
