Balance bike for 1 year old

hi

looking for balance bike options for a 1 year old.
the frog tadpole mini looks great and seems to be smallest. But wondered if there’s any other options that are small enough for a 1 year old?

Puky have a small/very robust balance bike, I think Isla do as well, we had both at different stages, both went on to lead lives elsewhere after done with. Both kids now on frogs so all are good choices.

The striders bikes were great, because you can get a longer seat pole and rise up the handlebars when they get older.. my son fell off at 3.. and cracked his helmet in 2… but he was fine… so whatever you get, get a good helmet! I’d get a second hand strider if you could..

Go with the tadpole. Can't remember which one we had but it was brilliant and lasted until my son was 4

Oh thanks everyone. Seems like the frog is still a good choice. I checked out the measurements and it can go the smallest. I was worried it could be outgrown too quickly but I saw on another thread somebody said it lasted their little one until 3!
although it does seem heavier than others but not sure if the difference is noticeable? if my LO was taller then then after reading the article the vitus nippy seems so light if I have to carry it!

those that had a frog, was it easy enough to carry when your little ones were tired?!

Our three were all scooting along happily on a 12in Strider well before 2 and graduated to pedals between 3-5. That strider is still stashed in our barn somewhere, I can't bear to get rid of it. It must have been pretty light as I spent a lot of time carrying it back from walks whilst pregnant with the next babies. The MN review says not great for off-road. I dimly remember we may have filled the tires with slime or even swapped them for solid tires to fix that. If you plan more than one kid it's a great bit of kit.

Look on Facebook market place for a second hand one. We had a Puky which was light and did ours until about 3 1/2.

YearoftheRabbit23 · 13/04/2023 08:56

Can recommend strider! Got it for my son's first birthday but he's only really started using it since 18 months and getting super confident with it.

MMM2022 · 13/04/2023 10:04

Oh the strider looks very light!
what’s the main difference between classic and sport? The strider classic is currently £70 on Amazon!

Thanks. Already got a helmet to make sure LO is used to it and did get a good one thankfully! :)
