Can anyone help: lost WhatsApp chat?

I'm so upset. Dh messaged me tonight and all of our previous chat history has disappeared. The media has all gone too and has gone from my backup. All the pics and the videos of the dc over the years. He can still view the chat and all media. I haven't deleted it as I haven't even messaged him all day.

Can anyone please help?

I backup every day. Its all gone. I did a restore from yesterday and it's still all gone.

It's not in archives. The chat is still there but all previous messages are gone.

Save your back up from yesterday to Google drive or similar. Then uninstall and reinstall whatsapp. It sounds like you've got a corrupted app. Just make sure you're saving the right version of the backup when it last worked properly!

I've done a restore from yesterday and it's still not restoring my photos.

Does DH still have them all showing for him?

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the whole app? Not just restored the backup?

What can you see if you go onto the Web version... any different?
