My DD 4 is due to have surgery on Saturday, adenoids taken out, but she has just come down with a cough. Is there a chance they will reschedule it and anything I can do to help her recovery?

Hey @teenagersandatoddler mine had the same op and had a cough and cold about a week before hand. She was at the tail end of it by the surgery day but it was most definitely still there! She even had a big coughing fit as she walked in to theatre! The anaesthetist said as long as it wasn’t a chest infection and there was no wheeze they were happy to proceed.

good luck - I was stressed to high heaven thinking it would all get cancelled on the day so do understand your concern xx

@Hartleyhare1206 - thank you so much. Am so anxious of it being cancelled

My 2 year old niece had surgery postponed the morning of because of a cold. Apparently it depends of the anaesthetist but younger kids are at a higher risk of complications. Been rescheduled for next week and she’s snuffling again. Sorry OP, hopefully it’s just a 24 hour thing.
