Blood brothers the novel...Cannot find it

I am sure I have read this as a novel but can only find the playwrite.
Have I imagined it? The play write version is not what I remember but I only really remember the bit where ones fiance sleeps with the other brother. He then beats both of them almost dead and then kills one of her babies.

Is this the same story by Willy Russel?

It's a play, not a novel.
However, that's not quite the plot so you may be confusing it with something else

Blood Brothers is a play by Willy Russell. Its about twins who are separated at birth. One is taken by rich woman who also deceives her husband that the child is theirs.
They meet in childhood and make a childhood pact to be blood brothers. When the rich mother finds out, she moves the family away.
They meet again as teena but their lives draw apart as the rich one goes to university and has a successful life, whilst the poor one ends up in prison
The twins end up being shot dead on the same day. The exact details of how that happens vary a bit between productions.
