Have you ever fancied someone based on their personality?

Like someone that doesn't necessarily look the part in a photograph but just has a cracking personality?

Yes. Always thought him really unattractive. Then I had a conversation with him.

Over the next couple of months of conversations, I fell in love with him. And of course the more I loved him, the more I was attracted to him.

Yes very much so. We got on amazingly, he was like a male version of me. I tried really hard to fancy him but I just didn't and it didn't come with time or as a result of loving his personality. At times I thought I did and I didn't view him as just a friend, but I suppose I need more of an instant attraction to someone. Still pretty sad about it.

Absolutely. A very funny, mature, and kind person. Stood out from peers. I think all the girls (College cohort) loved him a little.

Gorgeous Gerry. Attractive based on everything but looks.

Very much this! And the older I've got the more I've realised do not write someone off just because you don't immediately find them attractive.

Even if I don't find someone physically attractive at first once I like them as a person I almost always then fancy them!

I've learnt that for me though that it's best not to try to make those into relationships, and to keep them as friends even if I do fancy them now, because sex with people I don't have that instant physical 'omg he's hot' reaction to is never as good.
