Long haul for DCs

Curious really. I have one DC under one and we will be going on a short haul all inclusive pool holiday this year to Spain for ease.

Before the baby DH and I used to enjoy some long haul trips exploring new countries (double income no kids lifestyle). It was good fun. I have assumed that these long haul trips are over now for the foreseeable. Which is completely fine by me. I want to prioritise holidays on what I think my DC will enjoy (as opposed to dragging my DC or trying to make her enjoy an adult focused holiday). I spent my childhood holiday on U.K. beaches going in the sea, playing cricket on the beach and having fish and chips. It was great fun.

However asking for advice from anyone more experienced than I am in holidaying with children? Is my assumption that short haul beach / pool / sports activities will be on the cards for the foreseeable future, or does anyone do long haul and more “exploring type” holidays with their DCs?

Lots of couples doing long haul and cruises with babies on You Tube. I’d be doing it before they’re two, so the flight is free.

Lots of people spdo club med, neilson type holidays with kids generally around Europe and then iff the have the money follow the school curriculum. So if doing Egyptians go there Incas Amazon etc to bring history and geography to life. But bucket and spade and beach holidays are great till they to to 5 or six

We've done both with ours but long haul tended to be a different type of holiday, Florida or travelling round Aus for example, we never bothered with long haul just for a beach holiday as we could do that well in Europe.
