Can an Osper card be used on a TfL bus?

We have a 15 year old coming to stay with us for a week. He'll have to get a bus 5 or 6 times.
Getting a travel card or visitor's Zipcard seems an expensive way to pay for a few bus journeys - but you can't pay cash.

Can he pay using an Osper card?
I know he wouldn't be able to get a child rate but I just want him to be able to get on the bus.

Just to clarify I mean Osper the bank card - it's not a typo for Oyster!

He can pay full price with any contactless card. But if you can get him a visitors child oyster then he'll be free on buses I think

If he has a contactless debit card he can pay using that. Yes he would get charged adult price but the price cap for buses (ie you never pay more than this amount in one day) is £4.95 which isn't bad considering how far you can travel within the London zones.

Thank you both. I'm happy to suck up the adult fare as the Visitor's Child Oyster is too much faff - we dont live near a Tube station to get it it authorised as a child's card.
