Has anyone else fallen down an "Irish Crown Jewels" rabbit hole this evening?

I think the most likely things are Shackleton had someone steal them, then they were melted down.

It can't have been Shackleton himself as he was in England at the time.

Very interesting indeed and the first I'd ever heard of it.

Someone 'high up ' knows though I doubt we'll ever really know. I'm assuming Shackleton is too much of a national treasure to be sullied.
