ITVx app doesn't work on my smart TV, can I just buy a cheap Amazon fire stick off eBay to watch ITVX?

I only want to watch the unforgotten series.
Does it matter which version of the fire stick I get?

But I would get a Roku rather than Fire. I've had 2 x Fire and it's so slow and the battery in the remote ran down very quickly.

I'v now got a Roku and it is much more intuitive and works so much more quickly.

ITVX doesn't work with our Fire Stick. I wouldn't bother. It is the only app that doesn't work, though.

Itvx works fine with all our fire sticks. Didn't work with shit smart tv though. The £29.99 firestick is fine

ITVX works fine on our Amazon 4k fire sticks (both were bought new in 2022). We bought them as our smart TV doesn't stay connected to our wifi anymore and it was much cheaper than a new TV. Not had any issues with them at all.

ITvX is as sketchy as hell, regardless of what platform I watch it on. Glitchy as hell. Quite irritating.

I've been binge watching Supernatural on ITVx via Roku all weekend. The app works on my phone too.

I’ve got a fire stick and ITVX is the only bloody app that doesn’t work on it. Buffers insanely but I can watch any other app without buffering so I know it’s ITVX not my internet that’s the issue.

Unfortunately, as someone else has said, ITVX doesn't seem to cast to TV, at least not my phone and TV though I have no problems casting YouTube.

Itvx works on my old TV using an amazon firestick (the standard one) but am interested to hear its glitchy for others too. Its the only app that buffers - I thought it was bad luck but maybe its a thing. Annoying because ITVX has all my favourite detective programmes!!!

It's not an upgrade at all.

I can cast to my Google hub and nest, but not my TV. Make it make sense.

And the app on my TV is awful.

Yep - it's crap on my tv too. It crashes every time I get to the adverts and when I restart, it comes back on with the audio description on for no reason! Absolutely terrible. I put up with it for Unforgotten but I won't be watching anything else.

I’ve tried and failed to obtain this. So annoying. Who on earth was paid to came up with this nonsense? Hub was fine.
