Where would you go? Probably June or September.

Maybe Hawaii.

Floofydawg · 09/04/2023 11:41

You wouldn't get to Hawaii for £1000.

Canaries. Luxury all inclusive. Or Cyprus.

frozendaisy · 09/04/2023 11:44

Not sure it would be enough for Iceland.

Italy.

Sausagis · 09/04/2023 11:47

It would just about get me on a 7 night cruise from Southampton - I'd be browsing vacationsTogo.com

ComtesseDeSpair · 09/04/2023 11:48

Northern Cyprus. Much less touristy in comparison with Cyprus, and cheaper than other European countries. You do need to be able to drive if you want to tour more widely from your base, though.

Otherwise, Rome, with trips out to the surrounding beaches and countryside.

Purplecatshopaholic · 09/04/2023 11:48

Canaries for me.

TreesandFish · 09/04/2023 12:11

Denmark but you'll have to find budget accommodation. Beautiful country though

MintyCedric · 30/04/2023 13:39

Cottage in Haworth where I’ve been a couple of time previously…beautiful views, hot tub and with a £1k budget I’d have a decent amount of spending money too.

Italy.

My brother went to Iceland last month, 5 nights, flights cost him £200 and her hired a campervan fully kitted out for £49 per night.

brittanyfairies · 30/04/2023 13:41

I'm just planning this myself, I've typed in the name of my nearest airport and then chosen the cheapest flight to somewhere interesting, then have booked a medium rate hotel in this city for 3 or 4 days and then done the same again. So at the end of July I'm visiting Barcelona, Rome and Istanbul all for flight prices of 100 euros or less.

Northumberland.

I have truly never seen a more beautiful location in my 20 years of living in the UK.

TiredOfCleaning · 30/04/2023 14:12

Oh- wrong thread. I was meant to be on the holiday location in the UK forever thread!

regenerista · 30/04/2023 14:23

I'd probably go on a cruise if it was in budget, simply because I do like to chat to other people over dinner etc, if not I'd pick one of the Greek islands so there's plenty to see as well as relaxing on a beach.

DanceBeneathADiamondSky · 30/04/2023 14:24

I'd go to Greece or the Canaries

MrMarkham · 30/04/2023 17:47

Fancy hotel in Bath

SophisticatedWoman · 01/05/2023 09:28

Thank you for the inspiration. I am leaning towards Kefalonia 😎

I'm hoping to do one week split between Copenhagen and Stockholm. That will come in around £850 for a single traveller. Mail holidays.

NutellaNut · 02/05/2023 01:05

An adults only spa hotel somewhere hot.

newtb · 02/05/2023 02:14

Hôtel Golf at Bandol with a fancy parasol reserved on their beach. Not sure how many nights you'd get.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 02/05/2023 02:32

Istanbul was magical .

JamSandle · 09/04/2023 11:36

Maybe Hawaii.

If you’re not American, Hawaii has been actively campaigning for people NOT to go. They are still struggling post Covid.

katscamel · 02/05/2023 04:07

Konya in Turkey for a few days as its where the poet Rumi was from. I'd then go to ...the coast for a few days to see a friend then up to Istanbul.

Hoolihan · 02/05/2023 04:10

Balearics or Greek Island, lovely small hotel close to a beach, bit of yoga, good food, massive pile of books. HEAVEN!!

MissingMoominMamma · 02/05/2023 05:06

I’d go on a group activity holiday. Walking/kayaking/cycling or sailing. Possibly the Greek islands or Croatia/Slovenia.
