Where to stay in Tenerife

We're looking to book a last minute holiday in Tenerife during the May half term. Looking at previous threads, I can see that Costa Adeje is highly recommended. I'm looking for recommendations on where to stay in Costa Adeje.

We've never been to Tenerife and have never done the all inclusive resort holiday. We usually self cater. I somehow have it in my head that if you go all inclusive, you never get to see the place as you're always staying within the resort premises, trying to make the best of the 'all inclusive'.... Is that the case?!

Ideally, I would like a place with either twin rooms or a suite (travelling with DH and 2 DCs - 9 and 5), that has a pool and can do a nice breakfast. Then way, we can venture out for the rest of the day and eat wherever we want to.

And finally, is Tenerife good with allergies (nuts)?

No specific hotel recommendations but playa fanabe and costa adeje is lovely. You can do good walks along the prom there. Bit pricier than americas, Christianos and golf del sur.

we’ve just done AI for the first time and loved it but we did stay in a lot - it depends what you want out of the holiday.

if you get a well placed hotel on the front, you’ll have a good choice of restaurants

Also if you go, safari centre is lovely for a mooch round lovely shops and restaurants there too

Heard very good things about here - they have a variety of bungalows and apartments and you can do all inclusive or self catering or half board. Lots of videos on you tube and groups on Facebook about it. It’s one we’re considering for next year.
