Today during a (genuinely fascinating) lengthy discussion, I found out that in the UK, if artificial intelligence generates creative work, then that artificial intelligence owns the copyright to that work. In the US, the person that instructed it to be generated is able to claim ownership, potentially. But not here!!

Anyway: I found this out during a lengthy “discussion”… with Bing, on creative mode. This happened after I got carried away asking too many questions about the thing I was talking to.

I genuinely don’t know how I feel about this 😂

Actually, Bing is genuinely known to lie, particularly in creative mode. I’m starting to think I should fact check this, in case it’s just trying to steal the creative work of the British people 😂

Erm maybe try talking to humans.

@Hellocatshome with responses like that I’m not sure I’m the one with that issue here to be honest. JFC

Given that AI has no legal standing in the UK since it's neither a living person nor any sort of corporate body, I think that's a load of old tosh beg leave to doubt it.

@JimmyDurham Your comment gave me pause long enough to panic and google it and I have the following two things to say:

  1. You appear to be right, it’s a load of crap!! The area is so grey it’s mesmerising. I have a lot of reading to do. (As I clearly don’t have enough humans to talk to 🤡)

  2. Bing appears to be a treacherous cunt

@SuperficiallyUnintelligent

Bing is virtually worthless IMHO. The only thing it does well is to make Google look good.🤓

SuperficiallyUnintelligent · 09/04/2023 19:44

have you tried bard 😂

I mean okay yes you’re right Google has strong points with Bard such as the ‘verification’ option that I’m sure everybody uses automatically…

But I was testing both… Google’s one just seems like a more intuitive google. It might be the safest option going forward however.

Not least because they’ve had to severely limit Bing since incidents like this 😂
