Life's mysteries

Today I bought a bottle of Nozecco. 100% alcohol free.

I had to be verified as over 25 at the self service checkout. I don't understand why.

Anything in life at the moment that you just don't get?

Should probably get over it but… there was a one-way system in a pub during Covid openings that just blew my mind.
All customers had to use the same one-way system to go to the toilets.
However, the seats we were allocated were within a couple of meters from the toilets and the half of the pub we were in were empty. A rule-obsessed staff member made me walk the one-way system across the pub and through the diners rather than me walking pass nobody and going the most direct.

TLDR: People who follow rules for the sake of it are one of life’s mysteries!

Non-alcoholic wines can still contain small amounts of alcohol as the alcohol removing process is not guaranteed to remove 100% of the alcohol. That's why it's in the alcohol aisle and not with the soft drinks.

So you have to be id'd because otherwise the retailer is breaking the law.

So do fresh juices. They often actually contain more.

This has really made me laugh

@Flymetothetoon i buy meat substitutes because I love the taste of meat but don’t want to eat dead animals, nothing against people that do, it’s your choice and I respect that but always find the ‘why buy a fake burger eat a mushroom’ argument incredibly sheltered and naive?

I buy meat substitutes as I still love meat, just gave it up for environmental / moral reasons.

There was so much of this during covid.

In Tescos I had walked past the bacon and tried to walk back maybe 10 foot to get to it, but the bossy employee made me walk to the far end of the aisle and all the way back round the next one to get back round to the bacon thereby making me pass 75+ people 🤦‍♀️

The Matalan employee who told me I had to follow the route all the way round the shop despite me wanting a duvet which I knew was near the tills, I didn't bother and walked out.

And then you could stand next to various people in very small toilets!
