Best places for lunch out with the kids?

That have decent adult options too and are not too expensive! We always end up in the same places-

M&S - the kids love the pizza and pasta and can have the fruit and snack before it arrives if they are ravenous.

wagamamas- have some plain chicken and noodle options that are great for kids and I love everything on the menu.

Las iguanas is pretty kid friendly

My grandchildren used to love Harvesters because they could get salad (incl pasta) and rolls while waiting for the main course. Pizza Express and Prezzo usually have good holiday offers. We often lunch in Weatherspoons if there is one available - the prices can’t be beaten and you get great service if you use the app and order from the table.

Ah yes Harvester is a good one. Except I have to keep my kids salad cart limited or they will eat too much of the pasta and then when our food comes they are no longer hungry and I don’t get my relaxing peaceful time to eat my own food.

I'm pretty indifferent but my teenagers love Nando's. I also like Bills.

Bella Italia is always a good option for us and often have kids eat for £1 type offers

DustyLee123 · 08/04/2023 12:01

Nando’s and Hickory’s.

Tapas was good for ours when they were little. Plenty of bread, olives to start with and they would have meatballs, fish, cheese tortilla etc. Little plates meant that they could try bits of all sorts and if they didn't like it DH would hoover it up!

Not particularly cheap but Yo Sushi! was also a treat for similar reasons as well as the novelty of the conveyor belt.

Wildwood
Bills
Cosy Club

ASD kid, I think nothing of taking a happy meal into a restaurant for them. There’s always paying adults and the kid would just not eat anything on the menu. Even if they have nuggets it’s not McDonald’s nuggets and they won’t get eaten.

FloatingRodger · 08/04/2023 14:04

Yo Sushi often does free kids mains with paying adults and they're decent - little veg sushi rolls, rice with veg and katsu chicken or similar. My only gripe is they're often out of things at my local one and if you're on bar seating there's not much space to spread out all the bits and kids get fidgety.

We like Giraffe and Zizzi

I like anywhere noisy, there's an independent fancy burger place close to me that always has loud music playing. Means I don't need to worry about my son disturbing the peace!
