Which do you prefer and why?
I always enjoyed going away a lot when on leave, even if just for a few days. We'd book a cheap Premier inn somewhere and just go off and explore. The coast, city breaks, further away theme parks, anything really.
I'm finding that these days I just cba with going. We do have one big proper holiday a year but the rest of the time I'm finding I prefer staying home and doing days out/enjoying some leisure time.
We have a grumpy teenager who can ruin anything which probably doesn't help, added that we are so busy all the time, dh working ridiculously long hours, the dcs sports take up every weekend. It's lovely to have some time to chill and easier being home with all our home comforts rather than trying to keep the darling children happy.
