Savings account/ISA

I'd like to start a savings account or ISA but I don't even know where to begin. I've saved £500 to put in initially. Could probably stretch to £1000 if I waited longer if that means more account types open up. I could put money in monthly. I don't mind not being able to access the money for a year or two. Advice very welcome.

To be honest savings accounts probably have better interest than isa’s these days .

I have a digital saver account with NatWest that you can put up to 150 a month in and interest is just over 6%.
