What things do you always keep in your car?
I'm a new driver so picking best practices.
Anything you have learnt is always good to have?

Phone charger
A microfibre cloth
A bottle of water (not for drinking, but refilling the tank or cleaning something off a wing mirror or something)
A small amount of change including pound coins for trolleys
A couple of bags for life

In the winter, a blanket and/or big coat

If I lived in colder climates I would have a tea light and lighter. Apparently if you get stuck in the snow overnight the tea light gives you enough warmth to survive the night

Reflective foil screen - summer in carparks make the car an oven in a hot climate
Antacids - that may just be me and my terrible reflux

I don't have anything technical as I wouldn't have a clue what to do with it anyway and would phone my breakdown service! I do have a variety of carrier bags for illness (emetophobe), a she wee, a small first aid kit, a variety of charging cables, a couple of old towels, and a picnic blanket as well as half the world's supply of bags for life and various lemon hand wipes from KFC!

In the winter I keep a blanket/waterproof coat and wellies in the car, too. In the summer, sun cream and windscreen shield.
