I am so sick of feeling sick! Multiple illnesses since Christmas.

Started with the flu at Christmas. Temp of 40, couldn't move, whole Christmas was basically ruined as I couldn't do anything (DH was ill too)

Since then it's just felt like non stop DVs, colds, 24 hr bugs.

Then I got covid, which was a really bad week and I still don't feel like my energy is back.

Add to this I have very bad anemia (am on folic acid) so I generally feel wiped out anyways.

I've just started my period about 4 days ago, I had bad periods with migraines.

And now I've woken up with a headache, sore throat, stuffed up nose and aches.

I'm just fucking sick of it.

I'm moving in about 3 months and need to decorate this house and organise everything and every time I think 'right, this week I will start' something else strikes me down 😭

I'm here with sympathy as I'm lying in bed sick while I write this.

Took a couple of days off work to spend with the kids over easter. I have a kidney infection, caught a stomach bug off the kids and my throat is burning.

Urgh. I'm sorry. Its rough isn't it.

The guilt is the worst, not doing anything fun as I just wanna crawl into bed

This may be way off but have you considered trying a daily antihistamine? It's hayfever season so that could be triggering the latest sore throat etc. I tend to take berocca when I'm feeling run down, for a month or two for a boost, and lots of rest as well. I have so much sympathy for you as I have had similar issues between October to March, including covid as the last illness I had. As hard as it is, it's important to listen to your body to give it a chance to recover from all the illnesses, as well as good foods and sleep.

We've had the same here, constant illness since that awful flu that ripped through the house over Xmas!!

Thehonestbadger · 06/04/2023 11:48

Yeah could have written this.
Was the same last year too, months and months of endless ailments.

Add to that my ongoing gastro issues I’ve had since pregnancy which mean even when I’m not poorly I can barely eat and feel nauseous most of the time…it’s just a shit show.

We went away last weekend, first time since we had both kids (almost 4 years) and I was unwell most of the time we were there. We paid almost £400 for me to hardly eat anything and feel sick in bed at a fancy spa hotel 😬

Pre kids I used to read stuff like ‘couples without kids are never as strong’ and think what tripe relationships can be tested in all sorts of other ways … but now I get it. You are your worst, sickest, unattractive selves with grotty small children in the mix. You hit the absolute floor and In amongst the most hideous moments in life you still have to negotiate between you the gruelling physical, emotional and practical care of small people. On several occasions I’ve been sure DH and I would separate but we are still going. At this point there’s literally nothing he’s not seen.

Yes, totally get the guilt piece. 9yo is being really good about it but really hoping I'll be feeling a bit less rough tomorrow so we can do something.

I'm under a blanket with a lemsip, so with you in sympathy. I had a cold for about 3 weeks in February, just couldn't shake it off. This cold arrived about a week ago, it's still disgusting with a hacking cough which leaves me sore and tired.

Picked up a stomach bug a couple of weeks ago.

I also have long covid, so regularly feel very tired and have to pace myself.

Weather is horrid so I can't even go and read in the garden.

Sending well wishes to everyone else that's feeling shite today :(
