Amazon Prime - 'free to me' option seems to have disappeared.

Has Prime Changed? Don't use it very often these days, but when I do I click the 'free to me' option. This shows everything that's free to watch on Prime. Looking at it now, I can't see that option. I can see 'free with ads' options which didn't used to be there (ages ago).

Can anyone tell me if the 'free to me' option has gone? It's not a major issue, just that it used to filter out anything that you had to pay for.

I don't find Prime to be particularly easy to use actually, so will probably cancel soon - was just having a look to see if there was anything worth watching before I do!

In fact, all the films I've looked at so far that are free come up as 'watch with ads'! There never used to be ads in the free films.

Also amazon music, now unless you pay for it, you can only listen to songs on your list in shuffle mode.

That's crap! Am definitely not renewing when it's due. Not worth it any more.

I haven't watched much on Prime lately. So they're charging to subscribe but also getting paid by advertisers?? Bit cheeky!

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 05/04/2023 20:32

@SynchOrSwim - isn't it?? One of the plus points of using a platform like Prime is that you can avoid ads. Bet you can't skip through them either....

Oh, apparently you can PAY to remove ads! Yep, definitely will be giving you more of my money for that. Cheeky fuckers.

But you’ve already paid!

And it’s not as if Amazon Prime delivery accounts for the yearly fee anymore, as they’ve crept the price of their products up, so they’re now the same price as prices plus delivery from other retailers. So a delivery fee is priced into each product, on top of the monthly fee.

So what is the charge for Amazon Prime actually for, then?

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 05/04/2023 20:43

For me, when I joined it was for the on demand tv shows and films that I was quite keen to see. And quicker delivery of some items, though I don't really care about quick delivery. I've never looked into the music aspect. Think there are also some free kindle books. It was worth it at the time as I watched loads on Prime, but now it's Netflix and Now TV. And of course, price has gradually crept up.....Yes, will definitely cancel.

To pay for Bezos' ticket to space.

Knullrufs · 05/04/2023 20:52

It’s still there, it’s just now in the sub-menus. Once you tap into either Movies or TV, the ‘free to me’ slider appears then.

I'm watchin a film as I type, no ads, just as it's always been. I don't know about free to me as I've not noticed that option
