Hole in the fence

I have a broken plank in my closeboard fence where a tree branch came down in the last storms and would like to do something else than just replace the plank. Yes I am trying to find ways to amuse the kids and myself plus survive the Easter school holidays.

Crappy obligatory diagram to try and show what I have to work with. Fixing wise the stump is solid so I can drive a spike into that or there is a fence rail which would take something lightweight. No neighbour issues as land behind fence is mine too.

Any suggestions, I debated a garden mirror but it wouldn't really reflect a nice view and ideally would prefer something a little more fun. Random suggestions highly welcomed!

Why don't you get the stump ground out and then plant something interesting and boundary-ish in the hole? Like a holly bush with red berries.

Or you could get the stump ground out and have some interesting iron work sculpture in the gap. Google outdoor sculptures or local artists.

Personally I'm cautious about mirrors in gardens as I get scared of concentrated sun and a fire.

Or you could get something like this...

A door that doesn't open but looks like it leads somewhere exciting?

Could you get from a reclamation years or make a stained glass window to fit? That would be a cool feature
