My sister wants me to organise a 50th party for her, looking for somewhere nice but not too funky in London centralish for about 80 people.
Anyone got any suggestions 🙏🏻. It'll be on a Saturday in June

You'll need to give some more detail. Rough budget. Is it just reserving an area for drinks. Or are you planning on providing food?

Budget per head? I am guessing at least £100 each - is she footing the bill?

Doing some food but people will pay for their own drinks

We hired a Boat on the Thames for a do, there was a pay bar and we provided food. Probably 100 people in the end. It went down to the Thames barrier ish and back and had a disco. It was good.

Still need a budget?
Central London is going to be pricey unless you just pay to reserve a space /area in a bar (can still be £500 plus to do that)

Lots of pubs have private rooms. I had my 50th in one, a great room with its own bar, rustic, wrap around balcony. They catered it (my request), we did our own music (a Spotify playlist via their sound system). There was a minimum bar spend to get the room for free which wasn't difficult! It was one of the nicest parties I've been to!!

@ColdAndGrumpy that sounds interesting- can you give me the name of the pub? Thanks

In principle, being on a boat sounds great, but casting my mind back to a work Christmas do we had on a boat on the Thames at the end of the 1980s, one huge problem was that it was impossible to get off (or on) except when we were moored.

This may not be central enough but it's somewhere people do book for parties and people rave about it, largely because of the decor. (I've never been in, but these are people whose opinion I would trust.) https://www.rivoliballroom.com/hire
