Is there a shortage of cadbury mini eggs?

i can’t seem to find any anywhere! I’ve been looking for a couple of weeks.

They've been selling them since Christmas plus it's nearly Easter and the school holidays so everyone's been buying them to decorate Easter Cakes, make mini egg fudge etc. I remember them selling out this time last year......

Do you have a local Facebook page? If you ask on there people who live locally can tell you if they've seen any.

I definitely don’t think there’s a shortage…..they’ve been out in my supermarket since Boxing Day…..think it’s just because it’s Easter week. We have packets of them but all the actual Easter eggs are gone

There were loads in my local waitrose and tesco. I've eaten so many I have a mouth full of ulcers from the sugar...

I bought he large multipack bags for baking a few weeks ago but DH has been buying the small bags at the Sainsbury’s local. The big Sainsbury’s has a whole mini egg section with loads of stock.

Our local Tesco had a small selection of bags a month or so ago. I bought a couple to make DS birthday cake and am now wishing I'd bought more as they've been out of stock since then. There certainly seems to be a shortage of them around here, as well as a shortage of Creme Eggs & actual Cadbury Easter eggs eg Dairy Milk.

Think it depends where you are.
It's ok here. But I know in our supermarket they've run out of creme egg multipacks.
They don't seem to get enough stock in anymore.
The Easter egg range is running out already and no creme egg multipack and that's just last time I looked.

In the past they used to have enough stock right up till Easter

Yes definitely in my square mile. I asked in our local newsagents because he always has them and hasn't had any in this year. He says he just can't get them from the cash and carry, which is owned by Tesco. Tesco has nabbed the lot and there are none left for the smaller shops using the cash and carry apparently.

None in the local Lidl either.

Haven't had any in supermarkets around here for weeks. They are also out of Cadbury caramel eggs.

None locally today. Did get smartie ones though which were ok but not as good. Had no problem getting some last week though when I didn’t need them… (6yo v insistent she needed some today for a cake.

B&M are only £1.09 a bag cheapest I've seen them and such a small bag!!

They don't make them locally any more. (I live in a town which used to have a Cadburys factory)

My village Spar shop has them. And the petrol station has an M and S with their own brand delicious mini eggs.

None in any of the supermarkets near us. I asked in our village shop last week and was told that they were scarce this year because they are made in Ukraine... But tbh they say that about anything they are running short of 🤣

My DH came home from work with a bag for me this evening, I was so happy 🥰

I got a 10 multipack in Morrisons for £2!! Local Tescos has run out of eggs completely and z Sainsburys running very low !

Not mini eggs in particular, but I think supermarkets in general are buying less Easter stock so that they aren’t left with excess.

My DD worked in Tesco for a while - 3 yrs ago at start of lockdown she came home from her first post Easter shift (at a Tesco extra) with an armful of reduced E Eggs. Last year they had sold out before Easter weekend.

A medium sized Tesco near us had very few E eggs left last week, and the local Asda stock has shrunk down - replaced by Father’s Day sets!

Yes this is exactly my thoughts.
It annoys me though, they should have enough to not have stocks dwindle before Easter

It happens every year. I think it's artificial scarcity to increase hype over them and make people panic buy. We panic buy them every year before they run out.

I love these ! This size I haven't found locally but in our local Morrisons we have found the large pack with 10 mini bags inside for £4 - perfect for egg hunts or middle aged women's work lunch bag ...
