White or magnolia?

Every wall in my house is marked and stained with the grime of daily life and it is getting me down. I have decided to paint all through the house. I wanted to do sage green in the tiny hallway. DP said absolutely not, as it won't match - we need a theme throughout (I bloody love sage green so while I'm fine with sage green throughout, he is not.)

Kitchen is white. All other rooms are magnolia.

I think white looks wonderful and clean but also a bit boring or clinical. Magnolia has warmth but also boring.

So would you paint your entire house (excluding kitchen which is staying white) magnolia or white? Living room has beige sofa and dark wood floor through out.

Exciting topic, I know. Thank you!

I’d use one of the many slightly off whites* with brilliant white for the ceilings. We’ve used Jasmine White and Timeless - both Dulux - both looked perfect.
ImO brilliant white is just too much everywhere.
*I’d try a few of the mini pots on sheets of A4 first, or on walls, if you’re going to paint soon afterwards.

I thought I'd settled on white but I was sat in the dining room yesterday looking at the white kitchen and all of our doors are dark dark wood. I'm not sure if the white is too much contrast and looks a bit cheap.

It may have to be elephants breath and the like.

White and more white!!

My DC had bought a new place, is doing the hall and stairs sage green and painting the previous magnolia walls white.

My house is white everywhere too.

I'd choose white. Sat in a white room as I write.

I love white.

Our whole house is white, but it certainly isn’t “boring” as we use loads of colour with it. Magnolia looks like it used to be white and then a smoker moved in.

We used to have our rooms pebble which we loved too.

I think both are boring. I'd choose colour everytime.
