Huge house spiders!!! Where they coming from?

Bleurgh just found yet another, huge, that must be the 5th I’ve found in my house in the last two weeks. We don’t keep the windows open for long periods of time. Found one in the bath this evening. Anyone else got this issue at the moment? I hate them and am irrationally afraid, they just creep me out!

My friend is so terrified of the that she ran into the street and got a random bloke t retrieve a spider for her. Thanks rando bloke! She always leaves the plug in the bath and sink so they cannot come up!

We’ve had a couple recently. I think it’s just them hatching etc after winter. Ugh.

I get huge ones as I live next to a nature reserve. Last winter someone told me about putting conkers (horse chestnuts) on all the window sills to keep them out.
I was a bit but gave it a go anyway. I've not seen a single one in the house this winter!! So obviously works although no idea why! Worth a go?

They don't come in from outside - they are house spiders, they often live behind skirting boards. Probably coming out because it's getting warmer. They're harmless
