Yet another child murdered because her “mother” prioritised her partner above her child.

That poor baby 😞

It's just heartbreaking. RIP little one.

AllIeveknewonlyou · 04/04/2023 15:41

I don't understand mothers prioritising partners over children. It genuinely baffles me.

I prioritised the cat over my ex.

RIP Lola.

elm26 · 04/04/2023 15:47

I just don't and won't ever understand how the parent can allow this to happen 😢

Poor baby girl. RIP xx

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/04/2023 16:15

Another scum bag and even that's too good of a name for her too interested in getting laid over the care and priority of her own daughter. Throw the key in the ocean.
Disgusting Pair of rats.Mind you I shouldn't really be calling them rats. That's a huge insult to rats, I actually quite like rats. Even a rodent will prioritize its babies over anything.
RIP Beautiful Lola x

I just read this and was horrified.
He was known as a drug using, violent bully.
His defence counsell said being drug user doesn't make someone a murderer. Well maybe not but why take the risk?

HarriwithanI · 04/04/2023 16:35

I live a couple of streets away, know the families, it’s just awful.
so heartbreaking:(

It'd be very interesting to see how violent he is in prison with real tough men. The ones who don't hurt and kill children and other vulnerable groups. He'll probably be cowering and quaking in protection and her too

BlusteryLake · 04/04/2023 17:09

It's always the same old scenario time after time. Parent (usually mother) gets blatantly unsuitable new partner (nearly always a man). And then somehow chooses to ignore all the warning signs, or exercise any kind of judgement in leaving their child with this person.

Nachobowls · 25/04/2023 14:19

3 years 🤬🤬😡 what is wrong with this country

Pearfacebananapoop · 25/04/2023 14:54

Fucking horrendous sentence.

I get she didn't do it. I get he was abusive. But who the fuck moves someone in you just met on Facebook? She knew what he was doing and did nothing to stop it. She'll be out in no time and have another baby just you watch. Evil. Hope they both get what they deserve in prison.

But beyond that why is this happening over and over again? It feels like we are going backwards as a society.

LexMitior · 25/04/2023 15:01

It's all connected with the social acceptance of "step parenting" by unrelated men.

Nothing has been really said in any of these cases by the wider family. They all seem to just go along with it. They don't get involved. It used to be frowned upon because unrelated men had the capacity to be dangerous to children.

Why can't that be a more significant factor in social services and any review. Parenting is different from just having a relationship when you have no kids. There should be real shame attached to bringing in some guy into your house to look after your children that you barely know. She had done this multiple times. Why the pussy footing about it? Her family knew she was like this? Where were they?

This woman is culpable. She should be in prison for far longer and she is incapable of ensuring a child's safety. But her whole family knew she was incapable

LiliLil · 25/04/2023 15:19

That poor, poor baby. It’s just unimaginable.

Frontline services are being cut to the bone. Surestart centres, early intervention, healthy relationship support - it’s nowhere to be found anymore.

“Normal” women like you or I wouldn’t move a man in immediately. Every woman who does this has some sort of underlying issue that makes them vulnerable to this - previous abuse, a childhood in care, a neglectful/poor upbringing, parents who did the same things and didn’t demonstrate healthy relationships. No excuse at all, that woman should rot too, but there are thousands and thousands like her out there and until there is a massive societal change and reform in health and social care, this will happen time and time again.

She had done this multiple times.Multiple interventions. Lots of fine statements by the families involved but they did nothing. And by the time of this child's death she would have been covered in marks. No one, family included, bothered. It's time to look at the wider family because this doesn't come from nowhere.

This is generational failure.

Nachobowls · 25/04/2023 15:29

I listened to the 999 call she lied for him and blamed the dog, they apparently didn’t call because they “didn’t have credit” I mean wtf?!

I totally agree. The family did absolutely nothing. And they knew she was incapable as a parent.

Paul2023 · 25/04/2023 18:40

Nothing can ever compensate the horrific death of that innocent child. But I welcome the fact that that piece of excrement will spend almost 30 years in a prison cell.

Hopefully a miserable existence in an overcrowded shit hole of a prison.

LexMitior · 25/04/2023 18:47

I wonder what sort of parent raises such a guy. The family are barely mentioned but he texted his mother with footage.

He's not had a sudden child murdering moment, this attack took 6 hours and he enjoyed himself. Where does such a man come from?

He’s not a rational human being like most of us in society. A low life who probably comes from a family of low lives.

dontgochasingwaterfalls00 · 25/04/2023 19:05

An evil man who was moved to another town whilst on bail under a new identity. He should have been locked away not free to carry on living his life.
I hope he rots in prison.

LexMitior · 25/04/2023 19:12

He should have got a whole life order - there was no mitigation given and pure sadism. I hope it gets referred to the Attorney General.

She should be in prison for a much longer period- highly culpable, saw fit to lie, and had many interventions.

ShipSpace · 25/04/2023 19:27

Both of these sentences should be referred for review.

There are no mitigations to explain the leniency.

Paul2023 · 07/01/2026 22:39

Just an update - Bevan was murdered in prison last November.3 prisoners are charged with his murder.
