Coat for London at the mo?!

What weight/style of coat are you wearing in London at the moment?! We're taking the kids down tomorrow and I'm having a complete mental block around what to pack in general and coat/outerwear specifically...the forecast is sunny and 10-13 degrees-ish but is that denim jacket/utility jacket, light raincoat, or woollen peacoat type weather?... (Can you tell I hardly go outside at the mo other than 3 mins walk between office and car, and hiking type walks, where you're always stripping off layers anyway?!)

Layers with waterproof

Light coat,it’s mild at the moment and it’s hot on/off the tube and bus

Woolen peacoat or raincoat with layers.

It's was cold today. It's sunny, but quite windy too.

Thanks all - will probably go for wool peacoat (and brolly). Worst-case, I'll have to go and do some light shopping on my own for half an hour, which isn't the worst thing ever 😀 I'm just having one of those days where I stand in front of my wardrobe and think, what the hell do I usually wear?!

It’s cold for this time of year. Everyone is still in winter coats.

emmathedilemma · 04/04/2023 09:24

I'm not in London but got those temperatures and I'm wearing my lightweight down jacket with waterproof over the top if it's raining.

emmathedilemma · 04/04/2023 09:24

oh, and gloves first thing in the morning and evening!

Just got back and it was a pretty broad church, coat-wise! Plenty of puffers/duvet/big winter coats but also a LOT of oversized trenchcoats, albeit most people wearing those looked a bit chilly 🤣 I wore my peacoat one day but a jumper + a very lightweight (Protected Species) raincoat the other days, and was fine, and that was with a lot of walking. I'm fairly hardy though!

DH and DS1 are in London today. DS1 is currently just wearing a jumper and I've given DH his fleece to carry for when it gets chilly in the evening. DH is just wearing a hoody - I bet he'll be cold later.
