Best lockdown Zoom games for team building

Our team has a regular non-work meeting for team bonding (working remotely). I'm organising the next one and looking for ideas. So far we've done quizzes, drawing games, one where we shared stories (e.g. craziest thing that has happened to you on holiday), one where we shared baby pics etc etc

There's so much online, I'd love some tried-and-tested ideas. Thanks!

I really can't imagine many things that are worse than this. Sharing baby pictures? Confused
Sorry I've nothing constructive to add

This sounds like my idea of hell. It’s not lockdown anymore. We used to (different team) do a weekly ‘time for tea’ where we just took a break from work, had a cuppa, maybe some cake and just had a chat. It’s much nicer just to talk to colleagues than play silly games.

Are you somewhere with lockdown?

If not then get them to go outside and take a picture of things like a treasure hunt.

Or an art competition.

Or send them all a kit and you all make the thing together.

I used to hate that as it was always one or two colleagues who wouldn't shut up

Oh god that sounds awful … is there a budget? Could everyone have a home delivery of a cocktail kit/ brownies/ afternoon tea or something? Then 10mins to say hi and enjoy your break/ early finish?

Yes!! Get them pissed!

Sharing baby pictures!? What happened to the staff members who didn't have babies? Or who didn't want to share? Why would this be a fun thing to do? Sorry nothing helpful to add either...

whatausername · 03/04/2023 20:45

I'd rather put shit in my eye. Tea and chat if you must. Or use the time to give everyone a break to search for a new job...

I think they mean baby pictures of themselves.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 03/04/2023 20:54

We did one where everyone shared a fact about themselves anonymously, and we had to guess who it was.

America12 · 03/04/2023 21:01

I think I'd be off sick that day 😬

ZoomGames · 03/04/2023 21:14

Haha thanks your answers have really made me laugh. Actually I had the same reaction as you when I joined, especially as I can be socially awkward and it really filled me with dread. But the team is really nice and they have been good fun. The downside is I now feel the pressure to keep it up for the next one. No budget sadly!

I understood this as sharing a photo oy yourself as a baby and colleagues trying to guess who the adult is (who the baby grew up to be).

DrWhoNowww · 03/04/2023 22:22

We’ve done “would you rather” in small breakout rooms before - teams split across U.K. and US so there’s a need for virtual team bonding.

Fairly basic questions ie sun holiday or city holiday, be early or late but then you can throw in some thinking ones like would you rather global peace or world hunger… it gets people chatting and sharing without having to give too much personal info away if they’re not comfortable.

Yes its very awkward if someone is adopted and has no baby photos to share.

there is an online pictionary that works very well. you put in a set of words in advance (we put in names of people in the building) and got some really funny bad pictures of them.

AWhimAway · 03/04/2023 22:37

We did one where we took a photo of something in our house and then we all had to guess which photo belonged to which person. People have random things in their houses that they liked to share the story behind. I enjoyed it. Helps if you have a team with a string bond.

FrangipaniBlue · 03/04/2023 23:02

We've done an online escape room and a Sherlock Holmes type thing online.

We could each log in and there were puzzles and things to solve.

It was a laugh!!

Think they cost about a tenner?

RaininginDarling · 03/04/2023 23:10

Maybe visit the School Of Life website and purchase their 100 questions/conversation starter box sets. Just take out the sex related cards (there's only a few!). You'll find some great questions in there across a broad range of categories.

It is £25 but I definitely recommend it.
