Trying to get perspective

Has there been any research into what proportion of men fall into one or more of the following categories allowing for instances which are not reported:

• Committed murder
• Committed manslaughter
• Willingly involved with drug dealing
• Willingly involved with people trafficking
• Committed rape or other sexual assault including domestic sexual abuse
• Viewed illegal pornography
• Committed violent crime
• Carrried out physical domestic abuse
• Carrried out emotional domestic abuse
• Carrried out financial domestic abuse
• Verbally abused someone due to race/sex/age/disability
• Knows about other men having done the above but not challenged / reported them
• Told significant lies to a committed partner such as:
• - physical and/or emotional affair (s)
• - gambling
• - sexuality
• - use of pornography
• - previous children
• - previous marriage (s)

it would also be interesting to compare to the proportion of women who have done the above.

Errr well there’s ONS data but obviously that’s not going to allow for anything unreported. What do you mean ‘previous children’?

My ex lied to me, he told me he'd never been married. Total lie he'd been married and had two children before we met.

There are government statistics for the crimes you’ve mentioned yes, and there are probably some rough statistics for the porn question etc but no way to actually verify the results.

Marriages and births you could look at registry documents if you knew where they’d previously lived

Im sure I seen something somewhere that estimated the proportion of rapes that don’t get reported - get that it won’t be exact but they must base these estimates on something

anyway, at a guess, what do people guesstimate the proportion of men over 16 are in one of the categories above ?

I’m, my DH bet on the boat race once so yeah he’d be in there. Oh and he’s married to me with kids. I think you’ve included too many variables to get a meaningful answer really
