Heeeelllp! Need to get mark off wall urgently

Ok, so it's the first week of the school holidays and I am doing granny duty with two grandchildren.
We're having a great time at my daughter's house, but I have just noticed that someone stuck one of those sticky hand toys up on a wall while I was briefly out of the room. I peeled it off and it has left a mark. Greasy handprint on magnolia emulsion 😫

Any proven removal tricks?
I'm torn between isopropyl alcohol and talc. Internet is full of remedies, but would prefer proven successful one if possible, please

Would like it to be gone by time my daughter comes home from work

I have no idea how to get the stain off but you are providing her with (presumably free) childcare - kids make a mess; is it really that important that the stain is gone?

I have no idea either, hopefully someone will come along soon and have a remedy for you, good luck op

Try hairspray

Baking soda? Make a paste, apply it to the stain, leave for a bit then GENTLY wipe it away with a damp cloth. (Please don't scrub as the paste can be abrasive, it might work better at getting the stain out, but it also might sand away the paint!)

When I was a kid - ie before the says of washable emulsion - we used to rub a piece of white bread to clean away marks on the wall.

I have washable emulsion on the walls in my house. You wouldn't know, it looks exactly like 'ordinary' emulsion. I can get every grubby hand mark off by gently rubbing it with a damp, clean microfibre cloth.

Why not try the microfibre cloth on an unobtrusive spot. If no paint comes off, and no rub mark is left, try it on the stain. Otherwise, try the bread trick.

Alternatively, just leave it. Its a house with kids and toys make marks. It's not like you threw food at the wall!

Magic eraser (a melamine sponge used damp) is effective for most things, but I don't understand why you are so bothered about it, it's presumably one of the children who made the mess!

Oh dear. You are a very naughty granny. I fear you might be sacked from providing free child care ever again.........not.

Thank you all, will give it a go.

Daughter is very reasonable about child marks in the house, but I want to make things easier for her, not worse.

I'm fully advanced booked for childcare for them for the next ten years 😀
