What beauty treatments do you have most often ?

Doing a bit of research before hopefully embarking on a new career

What beauty treatments do you frequently get ?
I'm hoping to train in lash extensions, brow tinting and waxing, spray tanning and dermaplankng and facials

Plan is to offer the service mobile initially around my current job then look at renting a room in local salon

Do you get these treatments? If so. How often and what would you expect to pay for the treatments in your own home ?

Would you prefer a mobile or salon based service?

Would really appreciate your thoughts 😊

I don't even know what some of those things are, let alone get them!
I have my hair cut 2-3 times a year. Used to get my armpits waxed but have only done that a couple of times since lockdown and just use the epilator on them instead.

Hi -I get lash extensions roughly every six weeks (with infills done at 3 weeks).

Brow tint and eyebrow shape generally every 4 weeks.

I don't get my nails done at the moment but I found that the above treatments make me feel more 'put together' and I generally don't wear make up every day anymore!

niki26 · 03/04/2023 13:07

Sorry didn't finish before posting! I pay £90 for lash extensions and £36 for infills - then £38 for the brow shape and tint - both in a salon.

I wouldn't mind having them done at home - I used to get my nails done at home which was easier for when the children are around!

Work2live · 03/04/2023 13:23

LVL lashes seem to be quite popular around here.

growgrowinggrown · 03/04/2023 13:29

I get lots of treatments but tend to use different people for different specialities.

I tend to look at someone who offers all of those things to be jack of all trades. I'd rather my facialist had a large menu of facials and skin therapies, my lash and brow lady does waxing too which compliments.

I wouldn't have a facial from my waxer for instance.

iwantchinese · 03/04/2023 14:36

I get my eyebrows tinted and waxed once a month and pay £13.50 for it, they also give you a loyalty card so after 6 times you get the 7th free, this is at an eyebrow shop.

I get my lashes done (hybrid lash extensions) every 3 weeks so only pay infill price which is £35 as after 3 weeks i only need infills as i have quite good lash retention. That is at someone's house in like a little brick shed in the garden. On an occasion i get a full set rather than infills it's £50 but that's normally if i go more than 3 weeks between infills it's classed as a full set.

gertrudemortimer · 03/04/2023 14:38

I get a lash lift and tint in the summer months every 7-8 weeks

gertrudemortimer · 03/04/2023 14:40

Sorry I forgot to add I go to her house and she works from a garden room that has a bathroom. She charged £30 last summer for the lift and ring

iloveburmese3 · 03/04/2023 14:42

Bikini wax, mani pedi, lip thread, facials and end of this year will start injectables (h acid and baby Botox) as I am 40 and done having kids.

shakeitoffsis · 03/04/2023 14:45

I get LVL lashes maybe twice a year. Hollywood bikini wax every 7 weeks. BIAB nails every 5 weeks (only because I'm on Mat leave and I'm a nurse and can never get my nails done!)

thaisweetchill · 03/04/2023 15:10

I get my eyebrows threaded every other month and gel nails a few times a year.

dietcokelime · 03/04/2023 15:16

Lash extensions - a set every few months (soak off and new set) and fills every 2 weeks between new sets

I pay £60 a full set and £30 an infill in a lovely salon

Brow tint and wax - about every 6 weeks ish

I pay £35 a time in the same lovely salon

Facials / dermaplaning - I dermaplane at home but get a facial maybe 4 times a year, depending what I get and where from anywhere from £90-200 a time

I always prefer a salon - it's lovely and clean, has all the equipment needed (like lash beds etc), I get my nails and Botox there too so it's like a one stop shop for me! I wouldn't use home based services because I just don't like to personally but I know some people do 😊 however it's all done by different people who all specialise in what they do, rather than someone who does it all

Thanks for the replies

Really helpful and definitely given me some ideas

Massage for sure. I pay a good amount for some one who really knows what they're doing.

Christmashope19 · 03/04/2023 20:01

I get my brows tinted/waxed every 8 weeks
my nails done every 3 weeks
approx twice a year my lashes done
think that’s it!

fourhours · 03/04/2023 20:05

The only thing I regularly get done is lash extensions, I switch between classic and hybrid depending on how I'm feeling!

Get them done at someone's house and they are:
Classic full set £45
3 week infill £25

Hybrid full set £65
3 week infill £40

I would expect a similar price if it was mobile as the cost of her home electric/gas would be replaced by petrol and travel time?

I have a gel manicure every 3 weeks and a facial maybe once a quarter.

Brow lamination and LVL are an occasional treat - maybe once or twice a year.

NorthernSpirit · 04/04/2023 13:21

I’m early 50’s & pretty low maintenance (I think)!

I have a good haircut every 6 weeks on the dot (I have a sharp pixie cut).

I have my eyebrows threaded & dyed every 6 weeks.

At home I give myself a manicure once a week & follow a good skincare regime at home.

SchoolTripDrama · 05/05/2023 10:34

I’m not that vain so I don’t bother

I get gel pedicures but only from around now up to September (when I'm most likely to be wearing sandals.)
