How is your Sunday?

I've had a lovely one.

Took ds2 to play rugby for a different club this morning as his team didn't have a match. He played well and really enjoyed it.

Came home and had a nice brunch with Dh, then did a bit of gardening and went for a walk to the next village, where we stopped for a couple at the pub and I won some sausages in the meat raffle, which I'll collect tomorrow.

Now we're home, stove lit, toad in the hole cooking, both teens home this evening for a change and no alarm tomorrow as it's the first day of the holidays (I'm a teacher).

How about you?

We’ve been away for the weekend visiting family, which was lovely… then I remember how horrendous having two incredibly overtired under 5’s is! We got home about an hour ago, neither fancied a nap in the car and are quite tearful.

We’re currently laying in bed listening to The Wind and the Willows quietly in DS’s room while DH pops out to get us a Nandos as the food delivery is running late. As soon as the kids fall asleep we need to sort the spare room and the house in general as mother in law is coming to stay and due to get here around 10pm. After 8 hours of driving between us this weekend neither of us are feeling motivated.

It sounds like you’ve had a lovely weekend OP 😁 I’m rather jealous of the meat raffle winnings!

It was nice ta. Went to the gym, made veggie moussaka, had a friend round for lunch, glass of wine and cake, now watching telly. Probably getting into bed soon for a good read and an early night

Well, we had actual SUN here, which was nice - not just peeping out from black clouds before the next downpour, but sunshine and blue skies all afternoon. Made a slow cooker braised steak, finished last night's wine, thinking of an early night with a hot water bottle, cup of tea and a book.

It's been lovely. Eldest DC came to stay for the weekend so it was just like the good old days when we were both up early sharing a cuppa - I miss the small things a lot. She went away around lunchtime so I spent the afternoon catching up on washing and then watched a bit of TV with DH and the youngest DC. Looking forward to tea now, it's just a quick throw it in the oven job and relax Smile

Well it hasnt rained so has been a great day, dog walk followed by rugby this morning, under 15's training so had some brilliant banter and tackles which made us all the parents laugh.
Back home for lunch then spent all afternoon in the garden, planting seeds, and tidying . Just taken the dog for second walk before dinner with a cold beer .

Had a good day. Finally painted a wall in the kitchen the cat had scratched at. Touched up some other walls. Did the other usual jobs and relaxed.

Working all day, so a bit meh but I'm outside so the sunshine was lovely. Now home and in the bath with a glass of wine -DH is out seeing friends. Got fresh PJs waiting and clean bedding. Going to watch Taskmaster on my iPad in bed.

Bliss.
