Asking for a pay rise?

Hey everyone,

So this Is a bit of a new one for me as I've usually been on salaried roles, now I'm on hourly..so I've never really had to ask for a pay rise as such!.

So I work as a utilities supervisor for a large contractor, we do a lot of work with energy and mining companies, I've been here coming up just over a year now but I don't think we generally have performance reviews. In my time here so far I have established new contacts for the company as well as upcoming work, this has been recognised by the director etc who did send out a nice letter of thanks etc.

As its a private company everyone is on different wage structures and we don't really have an annual pay increase as such.., although I'm on a good yearly wage, I'm looking at promotion soon hopefully, so I'm unsure how to go about asking if there's potential for an increase in wages or if I should wait.

Any advice appreciated!
