As soon as the water starts to boil I take them out and I've never gone wrong with that.

I can only do it with eggs that've been in the fridge ie are cold.

Get water boiling.
Eggs in.
5 mins.
Then straight under cold tap for 10 secs.
Into egg cup with the pointy side down, so the white continues to set (don’t like runny white).

Egg boiler machine, comes with a meausring cup for the exact amount of water needed for your desired runny-ness.

comes out perfect everytime!

Air fryer!

7 mins at 150

Boil water, carefully put your room temperature eggs in, set the timer for 5 mins, rinse under cold water for a few seconds, done. SgtCawood I will try pointing them down, sounds logical as I hate any unset white too.

4 and a half minutes in boiling water

Justontherightsideofnormal · 02/04/2023 08:43

Put room temp eggs in cold water bring to boil, simmer 4 minutes, take out and eat, perfect every time, if particularly large eggs give an extra 25 seconds

i dont keep eggs in the fridge
i have a specific saucepan and a lid,
goes into cold water
comes to the boil
turn down and i used to use a stop watch! but now i if it is 8.42, i time it until it is 8.46,
take out, run under cold tap,
hit it with a spoon.
in the meantime i have made toast.

I find perfect soft ramen eggs are 6:30 for me. I have no tolerance for snotty whites though.

Delia's method works for me.
Get a pan of water just past simmerring, pop in egg and keep boiling for 1 minute.

Then remove pan from heat, place lid on pan and leave for 4 minutes for a small egg , 5 mins for medium egg, maybe 5.5 mins for extra big egg.
