If you were a child in the 80s what is this book

It was red and yellow, possibly including poems by Michael Rosen, one was called ‘it’s dull when you’re away’ about an older sibling going to school, another about baking for your mum as a suprise ‘make a few cakes, make a few pies’ another about falling of a climbing frame. I have googled every to can think to, I think about it so often when missing my little brother, it would make me so happy to find it!

Sadly not, I feel like the publisher mark looked like a sunrise and there was a cartoonish child with afro hair on the cover

This is ringing a bell. It was illustrated by Quentin Blake, but i can’t think of the name of it!

Maybe you’ve tried there already but there’s loads of Michael Rosen’s books on Amazon. Might be worth a browse through them.

There was a book i remember by three poets, one of them was Michael Rosen. I'm trying to think of the other two.

I remember being creeped out and frightened by the one about falling off the climbing frame. That book had lots of different illustrators.

Yes @Bamboux ! It’s the poem about missing your big sister while she’s at play school I really wanted, my baby brother used to know it off by heart and say it’s dull when you’re away’ when I came home again 😢

Ahhh, that is very sweet. I don't remember that one. I remember the kids baking and getting themselves and the kitchen covered in dough. And maybe one by floella Benjamin?

Still have 'you tell me' and 'quick let's get out of here' in the house somewhere, along with the Alan Ahlberg books and 'Pudmuddle Jump In'.
