Passport documents

I need to apply for passports for my three children and I need to send my documents as I don't have a valid passport myself.
Is it possible to send the documents for all applications at the same time, or do I have to do one at a time?
I'm also not keen on sending my original birth certificate, as it was issued by a British Consulate and irreplaceable. Can I order a copy and send that instead?

We’ve just renewed our passports and bought new copies of certificates as there is a chance they will go missing.

No idea about sending one set of documents for all 3 applications but I’d think you would need to do separately but check with them.

I'm not in UK and it was a while ago so it may have changed but we applied for (British) passport for (British) DH and our two minor children (both British) from the same address, at the same time, using one payment on my credit card. We all have the same surname. We had to pay 20 quid DHL for EACH passport to be returned, to the same address for people with the same name, because of "privacy" issues. Despite the fact that 2 of the passports were for minors under the care of their own parents.

It is bonkers
