How do you keep your garden nice/low maintenance on a budget?

For low maintenance.... mainly evergreen shrubs which are easy and don't need a lot of upkeep apart from an annual prune to keep looking tidy. Euronymous, Acuba, Viburnum Tinus, Ceanothus, Photinia, Rosemary, Hebe, Skimmia etc. B&M is good for buying these cheaply and you can take cuttings to propagate and get more plants for free. The supermarkets are also great for cheap plants or I rescue plants from the bargain corner at the garden centre and nurse them back to health.

For colour you can plant bulbs and they're pretty cheap..... crocus, daffodils, tulips, gladioli are all good.

Then just keep the lawn cut which makes the whole garden look neater.

Thanks I will take a trip to b and m tomorrow and see what I can get in. Maybe get some little solar lights to spruce it up aswell.
