Yes. You can have 4 lots of paracetamol ( 4 hours apart) and ibuprofen 6 hours apart. You can take them together if necessary

I’m pretty sure you take up to 8 paracetamol and 6 ibuprofen in a 24 hour window. I do anyway!

HighInfidelity · 31/03/2023 23:06

You can have up to 8 paracetamol a day but you should be spacing them at least 4 hours apart so if you’ve just taken some then you won’t want to be taking any more now. You can take more ibuprofen now though if you need them.

You don't have to alternate. You can take them together if that's how the timing works eg first dose of the day. You can have up to 4 full doses of paracetamol in 24 hours not less than 4 hours apart, and up to 3 doses of ibuprofen in 24 hours. My GP told me this and the NHS website also says this.

You can take 1000mg of paracetamol (2 tablets) 4 times a day (minimum of 4 hours apart), and 200-400mg of ibuprofen (1-2 tablets) three times a day (6 hours apart). No more than that in a 24 hour period. The two medications can be taken at the same time, or separately. Take the ibuprofen with food to protect your stomach though.

Iburprofen and paracetamol can be taken together, it is perfectly safe to do so. All you need to to is observe the instructions on the packet regarding max dose of each in a 24 hour period, and the time between taking them.

I would work out a schedule timings wise and just stick to it rather than take sporadically as it will work much more effectively to reduce pain and/or fever.

Feel rubbish today. So might be a combination of both
