Anyone went on ToTP, back in the day? I did. We were part of the crowd around Demis Roussos. I got to meet him afterwards, cool, eh?

OP posts:

Twice!! I saw Busted & shouted at Charlie that I loved him & the second time I was right behind Fearn Cotton when she did an intro wearing a Penelope pit stop t shirt (I think that's who it was anyway!)

I went in 1974. Best bit was Mott the Hoople, also Glitter Band. Pants People made us sit round in circles and wave our arms to Seasons in the Sun

I went in '76. Diddy David Hamilton was the compère. I remember Barry Biggs & Liverpool Express. David Soul was number 1, but it was a video, he wasn't there.

I'm extremely jealous. I love Barry Biggs and David Soul and these really were the glory days of Top of the Pops

I agree with the term Pants People. Legs and Co did it so much better! Still - Mott The Hoople though? Lucky you - love this era

Little Jimmy Osmond was number 1 and it was a film (thank gawd). I watch the reruns sometimes, depending on what year they're doing. There was a documentary about TOTP and two of my schoolfriends are in it a lot, queuing up and jigging around. We used to call Pants People/Legs & Co Doris and the Dogs. Not acceptable these days!
