Homework easter

Did your dc get homework for Easter? My dc y4 got none- neither did any of class. But y2dc got reading challenge, maths x2 sheets and 2 comprehension sheets! As did rest if class. Both similar levels in school. Seems unfair.

My school has no prep in the holidays blanket rule

DelurkingAJ · 31/03/2023 21:51

Y2 - five words to use in sentences (and learn the spelling). Y5 - please keep reading. Relaxed and frankly delighted that there’s no craft homework to be done!

WGACA · 31/03/2023 21:51

That’s because they’re in a SATs year.

Y2 here and none. Weekly newsletter specifically said everyone needs a break so no homework but Timestables Rockstars is available if anyone wants to log in. Also said that they are sure experiences they have in the holidays will be brilliant learning, more than homework. Thought that was nice.

Y4: A school wide reading challenge, which is just encouraging them to read a bit with their adults every day (and keep a record of it).

I've set a creative task linked to our next topic. Anything from a diorama to a fact sheet. I also told the children I won't set homework the first week back so there's no time pressure. They can always do ttrockstars or spelling shed and reading.

Reluctantadult · 31/03/2023 22:07

Yr1 has got reading, spellings, maths sheet. Yr3 has reading only.

Mynameisntrelevant · 31/03/2023 22:35

@WGACA yes! Of course- that'll be it then!
