Period delaying drugs or no?

So I need (really, really need) to not have my period on Thursday next week. I’m due to start on Monday, but my cycle is still a bit wonky. I got a prescription for norethisterone so I could delay it, and had planned to start taking it today. But last night (Thursday) I had a little tiny bit of blood and now I have cramps. If my period starts today / tomorrow properly I’ll be done and dusted by Thursday. But if it doesn’t then I won’t. So I guess I’m asking whether I should still try taking the norethisterone, or just ditch it and hope for the best?

I think you're meant to start taking 3 days before as you know, I'm not too sure how effective it is if your period has already started! If your periods are usually over in the same amount of time I'd give yourself until later today to see if you actually start your period and if not start taking the tablets?

Have you used it before? It made me horribly bloated and uncomfortable when I took it for out honeymoon. I really wished that I hadn't bothered.
