Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bloke

dudsville · 31/03/2023 04:25

I googled when i heard this earlier. Apparently he can still legally run, and i do think it will embolden his fan base.

JemimaTab · 31/03/2023 04:29

The reports are saying he’ll be charged with over 30 counts. That will be hard to brush off, even for his die hard supporters, surely.

CalistoNoSolo · 31/03/2023 07:04

They don't call him Teflon Don for nothing, but I'm praying to all of the gods that he's done for finally.

QuintanaRoo · 31/03/2023 07:39

Looks like he'll be in court next week. He will have to have a mugshot and be fingerprinted!

Delighted.

Let's hope Johnson and co are next...

lljkk · 31/03/2023 08:03

Stop gloating. This could actually increase his chances of winning presidency in 2024. Whole thing is a Lose Lose lose situation.

CampfireZen · 31/03/2023 08:29

Extraordinary that Trump vs Stormy Daniels is what he's finally being brought to book for, when trying to overthrow USA democracy in a well organised riot and insurrection (fully supported by him) is seemingly regarded with less urgency.

Do they still do mental aptitude tests on American presidents? Because how the hell Trump managed to wheedle his way through such, and into political supremacy is mystifying to me.

Money can buy power, I guess.

And he no doubt has dirt on many, many people.

If he ends up wearing an orange prison jumpsuit, he'll be totally camouflaged.

lljkk · 31/03/2023 09:55

I find it amusing that one of Trump's themes is how he would "drain the swamp" implying politicians were all corrupt, and then the first indictment he faces is literally about corrupt political activity (campaign finance violation).

Problem is that all the investigations against DT are about technical infringements, or ones where people end up trusting their gut feelings to decide what to think, because it's confusing. He said/she said on E.Jean Carroll. Why shouldn't a guy get to pay off his 'blackmailer tart' (Stormy Daniels) with his own money & keep the matter private to protect his wife's feelings? If Presidents are allowed to see confidential documents, why can't they keep them afterwards (Mar Al Lago raid). Trump didn't tell anyone to falsify votes, he only 'asked' accountable public officials to "look" harder (Georgia calls). He didn't explicitly tell supporters to do violence (Jan 6th) etc. So Trump hasn't lost support with his core constituency at all. They are people who feel trampled on so the more Trump says he's victimised, the more relatable Trump becomes to them.

Not like Boris Johnson's wrong doing (parties he attended & didn't stop during lockdown) which is just so simple to explain & understand for everyone.

No cameras allowed - booo!

Lweji · 04/04/2023 13:29

Looking forward to today.
