I remember seeing things like this during the strict lockdowns for key workers basically to confirm that they "could" be out and about, parking in the city centre etc. But that was three years ago...

I (of messy car extraction) have been known to have those pay and display tickets in that spot for months.

It looked very reachable to me. And very unofficial too.

Maybe its so everyone knows to give rhe car plenty of space in case it coughs on other cars?

Someone parking in my road wrote ‘NHS worker’ in crayon (I shit you not) on a torn piece of paper to try and dodge the resident permit required. It didn’t work.

Does it matter? Were they parked illegally or in residents' parking? If they were, no parking warden is going to take a blind bit of notice of that, if not as someone else said it has probably just been forgotten about? I have a parking ticket in my car from last February ('22) which slipped down on the dash and which is still clearly visible but would take a bit of an effort to reach and remove. Guess what's still there 13 months after it was valid?!

Even back in the height of the pandemic that would still have been utter bullshit. Doesn’t give you the right to park where you like cos you’re a self-appointed ‘key worker’

I have a (different) self made permit and it only works for 10 mins or so to unload, the traffic warden comes in and asks us to move (checking we really were loading)
