How much time would you give to preparing for this interview

I can do quite well in an interview when I'm well prepared especially if I use my notes I'm not good at talking off the cuff.

I have an interview tomorrow for an exec level job. I known I can do the job. I can give examples of when I have done everything in the job spec. In the past, I've written out STAR descriptions for each example and that has served me well. I've often used my notes, althiguh consensus here is that you shouldn't.

I've been sent some business plans to be discussed at interview and I've made some notes on those. I am very comfortable with this, so that should be fine.

I have good answers for why you want the job and why you're leaving the old one.

There's a panel interview, some informal chats and a task that will be given on the day.

What else do I need?

And notes? Or not?

I usually take as long as I have couple of weeks ideally

I never mind a candidate bringing notes in. My advice is make sure everything you may be presenting is grammatically correct, no typos etc. I switch off if that happens if I interview someone, it shows they can’t be bothered to check things diligently. Be prepared for some weird questions (it happens!) and make sure you have some questions prepared to ask the panel yourself. Something like “tell me why you like working here” and “if you could change one thing about working here, what would it be?” Good luck!!

I wouldn't take notes, but I don't stress over interviews. If you've got examples, you'll be fine. You shouldn't need to write down your experience to explain it.

Some candidates just can’t recall things as quickly as others and I’ve always accepted that when I’m interviewing. I’ve recruited at all levels and lots of great people bring notes in.
