Does phone elbow exist?

I've had a painful elbow for a while and I think it was hurting for a while before it registered.

I'm mid 50s...don't do any sports or anything that might cause injury.

I do use a mouse a lot though and I'm looking at my phone a lot...something tells me it's probably related to this 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anyone else had this?
Hurts when I pick up the kettle in the morning 😂

my left elbow has been sore and I reckon it's because I do a lot of mouse clicking with my right hand and lean my weight through my left one when I'm working.

Repetive strain injury does feel the same as tennis elbow. Try same principles, rest, ice, anti inflammatories like ibruphren if bad👍

Repeated moves can cause harm.

Technically yes and no

You can still get either tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow even if you don’t play tennis or golf. It’ll be one of the two, most likely.

I had this with a trackpad when I was away for work and forgot to take a mouse. It's a thing. Definitely try ice!

RoseMartha · 29/03/2023 15:53

Yes I sometimes get this sort of pain.

I'm 50's too and if I scroll too much in bed my elbow starts to ache too!

Stretching is good for this and I've started taking magnesium for aches and cramps which have appeared recently

Thanks for all the replies!

Okay this makes sense.

Good suggestions too-I will try ice, magnesium and stretching for sure

Any recommended stretches?

You could also try a wrist rest on front of your mouse and and ergonomic mouse alongside stretches and regular breaks

That's a good idea, thanks
