Re-Selling Concert Tickets

incognitodorrito · 29/03/2023 07:20

Around Christmas, I purchased VIP tickets for the Weeknd’s Manchester Concert in June. My nephew was meant to take my DD as a 13th birthday surprise. Nephew has now been offered a placement abroad which clashes with concert dates so can no longer take her. I don’t have any other young relatives or family friends that could join her. Whilst I’d love to take her, I don’t think she’ll enjoy it as much with her mum, so I’m thinking of selling them. Purchased on Ticketmaster for over £400 seated with vip entrance & tshirt / lanyard included - has anyone experience in reselling tickets ? Do I repost them on the Ticketmaster selling site or elsewhere ? Don’t want to make a profit but also not loose anything if possible.

Try Twickets

SOWK · 29/03/2023 07:22

Definitely Twickets - a lot of bands support it as a resale site because tickets can only be sold at face value or below.

Are you 100% sure your daughter doesn't want to go? I went to gigs with my parents at that age and know if teenagers who do now.

Or is there any way she could go with a friend and you drop them off and pick them up?

Does your DD know about the tickets?

If she doesn't know then I think selling before speaking to her is a bad idea. I suspect that given the choice of selling or going with you she would choose to still go.

JustFrustrated · 29/03/2023 07:28

Try talking to your DD.

Mine is the same age and we'd go together and she'd love the opportunity for some one on one time.

It’s her birthday gift & im going through chemo at the moment so don’t want her to be dissapointed but feel like she can’t say anything if you know what I mean ?

Another vote for twickets!
I've sold and bought tickets on there, it's brilliant

incognitodorrito · 29/03/2023 07:31

Hasten to add, I’m on a lite chemo course so am physically still fit etc and able to join her as my course would be complete by then.

Please go with her. She’d be gutted if she knew you sold them without even asking her! I’ve gone to loads of concerts with my mum, it’ll be lovely.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 29/03/2023 07:39

Your DD might surprise you and be happy to
go with her mum . If you feel well enough to go then I think it could be a fun experience.
My DS went to his first gigs with me when he was 14, he loved it so much he returned two days later to see the band (Foals) again while this time I sat in a pub opposite. A gig at Olympia tho isn’t a big stadium gig and nobody would really want to go on their own,( unless they do iyswim )
Ask your DD, would she like to go with you or not at all.
VIP tickets sound like an amazing experience. I absolutely loved seeing the delight on my DS’s face at that first gig ( he ended the year going to see YardAct and it’s a friend, unaccompanied by adults and they had a blast).
ps, I hope you make a good recovery.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 29/03/2023 07:41

Damn my coffee deprived brain and the lack of an Edit button. My my penultimate sentence would read “ to see YardAct with a friend “ I should add that they were 14, rising 15 and it involved a short train journey into London.

last thing, I think The Weeknd gig should be fab. We are big fans of Mr Abel Tesfaye in this house, although I do take issue with his lyric about fucking a lesbian straight, or something along those lines.

00100001 · 29/03/2023 09:32

Oh, go with her. You'll both have fun.

Better to regret the things you have done than things you haven't!

shakeitoffsis · 29/03/2023 09:41

Definitely go with her! It will be a memory for you both.

FiveHundredDucksWentOutOneDay · 29/03/2023 09:45

I don’t think you’ll have any issues reselling them on Twickets.

That said am I being hopelessly naive thinking 13 is really young for the Weeknd?! He’s brilliant the only show of his I’ve ever been too was not a child friendly affair.
